Poor Hunter Biden just can’t catch a break.

Sure, he’s a narco-using criminal and shady businessman up to his ears in ethical lapses and corrupt, foreign deals with his father, “The Big Guy.” But he’s a Democrat! And in Washington, that’s supposed to be enough to keep you out of trouble.

It’s Republicans who get held accountable for violating ethics rules and federal laws — like former Congressman George Santos. Democrats, everyone knows, skate. Bill and Hillary Clinton. New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez was indicted again for taking bribes. AOC’s illegal gifts.

Hunter Biden grew up in a time when Democrats were practically supposed to be corrupt. He was this close to skating on his own criminal indictment thanks to a sweetheart deal he negotiated with his father’s Justice Department.

But unfortunately for Hunter, there’s a new sheriff in town: U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan, Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, working hand-in-hand with Rep. James Comer, Chairman of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee.

They have been investigating Hunter for months. They have gathered a mountain of evidence on him — and they are not going to stop with just him. All year, they have wanted Hunter to sit for depositions and public testimony before their committees. All year, Hunter has refused.

Until one day in November, Hunter’s lawyers tried to pull a fast one. Hunter offered to testify in public but not sit for preliminary depositions under oath. This would be the best of all worlds for Biden:

• He’d be protected by committee Democrats;

• He could refuse to answer tough questions under phony legal pretexts; and 

• He’d begin with a teary-eyed opening statement that leftwing reporters would ensure led the news.

Under the normal rules of Swamp Justice, Hunter’s trick play should have worked. Democrats always offer this kind of half-measure, and Republicans always take it as “the best we can do.”

But Jim Jordan is not that kind of Republican. For instance, he was born in Ohio, NOT UNDER A ROCK! He and Chairman Comer — not the shady president’s shady son — are in charge of this investigation. Letting Hunter Biden testify before being deposed would be like giving him a Get-Out-Of-Jail-Free card. 

There is no mystery about the strategy here. The Biden plan to lie. The Democrats plan to lie. The media plans to lie.

That’s why Hunter needs to be deposed. If he lies under oath in a deposition, he doesn’t get to go on MSNBC — he goes to prison.

For 50 years, Republican committee chairmen have let Democrats weasel and connive their way out of their corruption. For 50 years, conservatives have hoped and prayed for honest, tough, constitutional conservatives to get their hands on some gavels to change Swamp Justice forever.

According to multiple news reports, former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) may step down and vacate his congressional seat before the end of the year.

McCarthy — who privately told donors he is looking to “get the hell out” — will make a decision before California’s Dec. 8 filing deadline.

Should McCarthy call it quits, he won’t be alone. There are already 30 members of the U.S. House who have decided not to seek re-election next year. If this trend continues, the 2024 election could be one of the biggest retirement years in recent history.

Many of these open-seat districts lean Republican and can be won by true conservatives with the right support. For example, McCarthy’s California district has a +16 Republican Partisan Voting Index (PVI).

The McCarthy news and the recent surge in House retirements point to why conservatives across the nation should work together to support strong candidates in the 2024 elections. Control of the House is on the line, but so is control of the Republican Party inside the House.

Republicans should have swept Election Night 2023. 

President Joe Biden is historically unpopular. The economy is flagging. America’s enemies are starting wars all over the world. The border is a disgrace. Inflation is still a crisis, our schools are woke catastrophes, and crime ravages our streets.

Every one of these disasters can be traced back to the corruption and incompetence of the president and his party. And yet, across the country this November, Republicans fell flat.

In Virginia. In Ohio. In Kentucky.

In Washington, stunned pollsters and pundits are scouring for clues about their failure in local trends and exit polls. (As usual, they want to blame conservatives!) But is the GOP’s 2023 flop really a mystery?

Think of it this way: If Republicans had won control of the Virginia legislature or the Kentucky governorship, what would they have done with it?

Nobody knows.

This is the problem with the entire Republican Establishment. To them, simply not being Democrats should be enough to persuade voters and inspire the nation. How’s that working out?

The American people aren’t stupid. They know how much trouble our country is in. But they also know that corporate Republicans are not just spineless and directionless — they’re useless!

They’re not bad politicians. They are just not conservative. They don’t prioritize the things everyday Americans actually care about. No matter what office RINOs run for — from dog-catcher up to the White House — they will not fight to save our country from the woke, socialist Left now tearing it apart at the seams.

The lesson of election night is not to tinker with the message, tweak campaign ads, or hire more consultants. This is not rocket science.

The Democrats are the party of lawlessness — so secure the border and throw criminals in prison. 

Democrats are the party of stagflation — so balance the budget, bring home our jobs, and unleash the energy renaissance our economy needs. 

Democrats are the party of corruption — so defund weaponized agencies and prosecute Deep State criminals.

If Republicans do this, they will win. If they don’t, they will keep losing.

The lesson of Election Night 2023 is the same one the American people — and House Freedom Fund — have given Republicans for years now: FIGHT FOR FREEDOM.

A funny thing happened the other day when the House of Representatives took up a bill authorizing $14 billion in aid to Israel: it passed.

If you live outside Washington, that doesn’t sound strange. Of course, the House passed the bill! Israel is our strongest Middle Eastern ally. And they are fighting for their survival against Hamas terrorists. 

This vote may seem normal to most Americans, but it was greeted with shrieking anger inside the Beltway.

Washington insiders think that any money we send to Israel must be contingent on sending more aid to Ukraine and other countries, too. Elites in the House and the Senate, in both parties, the media, and, of course, in the Biden Administration all said we can’t send money to Jerusalem unless we send it to Kyiv, too.

That gives you a sense of how upside-down Swamp-Think really is.

Aid to Israel is not controversial. Americans overwhelmingly support it. The Israeli government is a trusted, proven ally. We know they will use the money well. And we know they have a strategy to win their war against Hamas. 

We can’t say the same about Ukraine right now. Its government is corrupt. Ukrainian officials are stealing untold piles of the cash we send. And neither the Ukrainians nor President Biden has a plan for ending, let alone winning, the war.

That’s why House Republicans brought a stand-alone Israel aid package to the floor and why it easily passed. It’s also why conservatives across the country believe additional aid to Ukraine needs to have accountability standards attached to it to protect American interests.

It’s not complicated. Americans support Israel; they don’t support forever wars. Too many elites in Washington and around the world take almost the opposite view. Just look at the anti-Semitic violence on display on college campuses and in left-wing enclaves of blue cities and states.

Good on House Republicans and new Speaker Mike Johnson for following the lead of the House Freedom Caucus on this issue and taking this important step. Let President Biden and globalist Senate leaders in both parties explain why aid to our Israeli allies should be delayed. Let them explain why Ukraine needs another blank check and why our allies in Israel need to wait in line until they get it.

We have a feeling that those explanations will tell American voters a lot about the difference between our country and our political class — and about how to vote in primary and general elections next year.

As soon as Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-La.) was elected, the media started writing about how Washington would change.

But the biggest story here is how little has changed in the country. Think about it.

• We still have a president in serious mental decline, controlled by a staff of Marxist kooks. 

• We still have a Democrat Party bent on open borders despite drugs and criminals pouring into our country.

• They still want to gut the Second Amendment.

• We’re still funding international organizations and universities consumed with anti-Semitic hate.

• We’re still going broke, with Biden-flation and spiking interest rates strangling our economy.

We like Speaker Mike Johnson and wish him well. But the threats our country faces today aren’t about congressional inside baseball and continuing resolution deadlines. We’re in big trouble.

Most Washington Republicans say the solution to these larger problems is a larger House Republican majority. But a larger majority made up of RINOs — like the ones who stabbed Jim Jordan in the back — won’t do any good.

What we need are real conservatives, real fighters who understand the urgency of the moment.

Are the Republicans in your neck of the woods willing to secure the border, defund woke extremism, or end forever wars? Are they willing to end Swamp corruption or cut off cities and states that defy federal law? If not, then what good are they?

The world is on fire, the nation is coming apart at the seams, and the political Establishment thinks everything is hunky-dory. They are not working for us. They’re not working for America. They are working for Washington and against the rest of us.

It needs to stop. And conservatives are the only ones who can stop it.

We wish Speaker Johnson well. We supported him in his first election to Congress in 2016, and we welcome his leadership in the fight. But all conservatives should pray that this new Speaker understands: it’s the fight that matters, not a gavel, not one politician, not a job.

The country doesn’t need a new face; it needs a new direction.

A panic is setting in across Washington. Elites in both parties are realizing that this budget fight is different.

The Establishment is running the same old playbook:

• Democrats shriek, “SHUT DOWN, SHUT DOWN, SHUT DOWN!”

Or to borrow trillions of dollars to spend on a weaponized FBI, racist education programs, and attacking parents’ rights.

Why? Because in these fights, the American people are on our side. They always have been. For years, Washington Republicans cared more about the status quo in Washington than about everyday Americans.

From Donald Trump to the Supreme Court to the border crisis to the crime wave to America First foreign policy, the Republican Party has fundamentally changed in the last decade. The only thing that hasn’t changed is the Establishment.

They think they are still in charge.

But they’re not. Not if conservatives stand and fight on the issues that real Americans care about. Border security. Election integrity. Crime. Government accountability. The rights of parents and children. The national debt.

In Washington, these things are called “distractions” from the “important” issues — forever wars, deep state entitlement, and harassing conservatives. In the country, though, these are the important issues. This is the fight.

And House conservatives can win it — if they stand together and conservatives around the country stand with them.

House Freedom Fund is standing with them. We are not only supporting House conservatives in today’s fight against the Left and the Establishment over this year’s budget. We are supporting conservative reinforcements in next year’s elections.

The clock is ticking, and Republican leaders in Washington have failed to produce annual spending bills to fund the government and keep their promises to voters.

It’s the same old story.

Leaders in Washington wait until the eleventh hour to pass the annual appropriations bills and then falsely accuse anyone who objects to a giant, budget-busting omnibus bill of shutting down the government.

We’ve said it before, and we will keep saying it. Until Republican leaders overcome their fears of a government shutdown and work together to win this argument, they will never accomplish anything meaningful in Congress.

You see, the annual spending bills are essentially the only must-pass bills that give Republicans the opportunity to make real reforms. So, when they take them off the table and refuse to fight the Democrats, they give up their leverage.

Surrendering the budget debate not only keeps Republicans from accomplishing their stated goals but, even worse, it gives the Democrats a blank check to accomplish their destructive woke agenda. It’s a total leadership shutdown.

Thankfully, members of the House Freedom Caucus have been fighting for real spending cuts and to secure the border. Their proposal would keep the promises Republicans made to the voters and fund government operations. It’s the best option Republicans have, but their leaders must be willing to fight.

A strange narrative is swirling around Washington, D.C. People speculate that Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s decision to open an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden’s corruption means the House majority won’t demand crucial spending priorities in the fall budget fight.

The idea is apparently that if Republicans enforce the constitutional rule of law on Biden, they can’t demand fiscal discipline and moral sanity in the budget.

How about Yes/And, Mr. Speaker?

Members of Congress don’t get to pick and choose which part of their oaths of office they want to uphold. 

If evidence continues to show that Hunter and Joe Biden were involved in a years-long scheme of bribery and influence peddling, then the president MUST be impeached.

Meanwhile, the federal budget deficit doubled this year to $2 trillion — in peacetime, with no pandemic or global crisis. And the $5 trillion Washington spent this year is funding: 

• Criminally weaponized agencies, 

• Censorship schemes, 

• Woke indoctrination in our schools,

• Religious persecution, and

• Abortions for military personnel.

Republicans cannot duck either one of these fights! 

The Constitution requires Congress to hold the president accountable for his high crimes and misdemeanors — and protect the rule of law and the nation’s fiscal solvency. Tough talk and clever tactics aren’t enough to do this job. At long last, Republicans need courage, will, and grit.

The real question is why we are still having this kind of debate. The Republican Party has been ducking these fights for decades — and look what they have to show for it. The country is coming apart at the seams. Criminals are running roughshod over our cities and our southern border. We’re deeper in debt than ever before. Elite institutions are in open revolt against the American people and their values. 

We cannot negotiate or maneuver our way out of this mess; we have to fight.

That is exactly what the House Freedom Fund has been doing. We need more leaders like Jim Jordan, Scott Perry, Chip Roy, and Byron Donalds.

The clock is officially ticking on open borders conspirator Alejandro Mayorkas’s tenure as Secretary of Homeland Security.

That’s the only conclusion from the latest report from the House Homeland Security Committee under Chairman — and Freedom Caucus stalwart — Rep. Mark Green.

The report documents how Mayorkas’s “open-borders policies have empowered and emboldened some of the most vicious, ruthless, and savage individuals and groups in the world.”

It painstakingly details the direct and indirect assistance Mayorkas has provided to drug cartels and human smuggling rings while inviting drugs, criminals, and potential terrorists into our country.

Because of Mayorkas’s — and President Joe Biden’s — dereliction of duty on our southern border, the last two years have been the fattest in history for Mexico’s criminal cartels. They have turned human trafficking into a multi-billion dollar business — money they use to tighten their grip over Mexico and the border region. Customs and Border Control have seized nearly 20,000 pounds of fentanyl along the Southern border this year — that’s enough to kill every American twice over.

The crisis has gotten so bad that even left-wing mayors and governors are begging the Biden Administration to stop the flow of criminals into their cities and states. There are reports that Biden and Mayorkas may answer their requests by forcing illegal immigrants to stay in Texas — so Blue State elites won’t have to suffer the consequences of their lawless extremism.

Consequences for Mayorkas are no longer a question of if but when. Many House conservatives are — rightly — making the case for impeaching the corrupt Secretary. But as Rep. Chip Roy points out, we don’t have to wait that long – House control over federal spending is more than enough to end Mayorkas’s faithless execution of the law and rampant abuses of the power.

Throwing Mayorkas out of office would require Senate Democrats to abandon their own president and their own policy. Defunding Mayorkas and his illegal policy, on the other hand, only requires conservatives in the House to hold the line. That’s a fight we could win — and with the fiscal year ending September 30, that fight would be right around the corner.

Secretary Mayorkas has spent his entire tenure at DHS making America less safe and drug cartels more powerful. That’s more than a scandal — it’s disqualifying. And thanks to House Freedom Caucus leaders like Mark Green and Chip Roy, the whole country knows it.

Now it’s time for the rest of the GOP to do something about it.
